DOORS 7PM WITH 7:30PM START
Local writer and former Cheshire Poet Laureate has released her new collection of poetry called
‘Borrowed Scenery’.
This is a collection that takes its inspiration from green spaces, particularly the parks and landscapes
that weave in and out of our urban environment. It not only reflects deftly on the nature and beauty
of these places but also gives an imaginative voice to the inanimate occupants too, the trees, the
ghosts of horses, past occupants of the stately home and many others.
Joy has been Writer in Residence at Tatton Park in Knutsford and facilitator of creative writing
workshops there since 2017. She has not only used that time to write her own poetry but also
encouraged and inspired others to give their reflections and opinions on a variety of related topics. A
selection of contributions from volunteers and visitors to the park and workshop attendees and
members of staff are included in this collection.
