About April’s Guest Poet
Phil Poyser is a medicinal organic chemist with a lifelong, parallel interest in
poetry to which he has been able to give free rein since retiring from
AstraZeneca in 2007.
He started writing in adolescence in Mansfield and hopes it is staving off
senescence in Macclesfield where he lives with his French partner, Mady. His
studies and work took him to Australia, to Concepción, Chile and to Strasbourg
and Reims, France.
He is an active open-miker and member of Macclesfield Creative Writing
Group and between 2012 and 2022, published 4 short collections of poetry,
much of it inspired by cycling, bridge and allotment gardening.
